eBook Selling Advice For Newbies That Can Help

Recently I showed my dad all of the orders that I get from eBook sales that come to my inbox. He was astonished. He thought this internet stuff was a hoax, full of scams, lies, and thieves. But his perception of the internet and making a living from it has changed. He’s from the old school of offline marketing, and actually seeing cash deposited into a bank.

But luckily for him, I’m his son LOL. So I showed him my numbers, and he is interested in the eBook business. My dad is a decorated ex-police officer. I told him that if he was to sell an eBook online, he should sell to other police officers. He has instant credibility, personal stories, a track record to back him up, images, and friends. He’s the perfect person to be selling in this niche.

Now for his sake, I won’t tell you the kind of eBook that I think that she needs to write. Hey, he’s my dad… I want to see him succeed. I can’t post his product idea and then have someone occupy this untapped market. You can understand that right? LOL hopefully you do – because I’m sure you would do the same. But back to what I was saying.

Selling eBooks online is the first step to becoming an internet “wiz-kid”, and then expand your operations upward. Early on in my internet career, I wanted to be an online marketing consultant. But only 1 thing would come to my mind when I approached this task. How could I sell a $5,000 coaching service to people, when I don’t even know how to sell a $19 eBook?!?

And guess what? This is the same dilemma that plagues a lot of people online today. They want to go for the riches, but don’t even understand basic internet marketing principles for selling a cheap $19 product. If this describes you, then you need to take a step back and really analyze your business – and the niche that you’re selling your eBook in.

Sometimes I’m compelled to tell people who just won’t listen to me, to start off on eBay. This way they can get an understanding of how to get sales, how to get comfortable with getting daily sales, how to become responsible enough to ship products off on a daily basis, and how to handle success. Some people are afraid of success. So if you can’t handle the fast success on eBay, you’re probably going to have a hard time handling the success from selling an eBook that you’ve spent the last few years working on.

Selling eBooks online can be a successful venture for you – but just apply the same logic that you would apply when running an offline business, and you will be fine. You will encounter a lot of people trying to sell you hopes and dreams, but in the end, it all leads to them getting richer, and you staying broke. I know you don’t want to be broke, and there’s no reason for you to stay broke. So keep that in mind.
